The Kusanagi Sword: Long Sword of the Heavens is the Kusanagi or Japanese legend. Orochimaru retrieves his Kusanagi by opening his mouth and extending a snake which then opens its mouth and produces the sword. Orochimaru was seen producing the sword handle first so he could use it freely, or blade first to attack his oppoenent instantly. The sword can extend its blade to attack from afar and it can cut through almost anything. The Kusanagi appears differently from the manga to the anime. In the manga, the Kusanagi looks more like a standard katana, while in the anime its a guardless, double-edged jian.

Sasuke Uchiha has his own Kusanagi sword, though its not the same as Orochimaru's. Sasuke's Kusanagi resembles a chokuto, in a shikomizue (a wooden sheath designed to conceal the sword). To further differentiate from Orochimaru, Sasuke carries his Kusanagi on his back rather than carrying it inside of a snake. Sasuke's also seem to lack the special abilities Orochimaru's posses, such as extending itself. This is fixed by Sasuke focusing his Chidori Current through the blade, allowing it to create a electrical blade, making it unblockable and able to cause numbing on target

History:
The second son of a Konoha police captain, Sasuke grew up in the shadow of his older brother, Itachi. Itachi was an acknowledged prodigy who graduated at the top of his Academy class at age 7, mastered the Sharingan by age 8, became a Chuunin at age 10, and an ANBU squad leader at the age of 13. The Uchiha clan took great pride and interest in Itachi and viewed him as a genius whose work would further strengthen the bonds between the village and the clan. In particular, Sasuke's father took an active interest in Itachi. Itachi, on the other hand, was rather ambivalent and full of oddly conflicting undercurrents, acknowledging Sasuke by taking interest in his progress as a ninja when even their father did not, but spending little quality time with Sasuke. Even after Sasuke enrolled in the Ninja Academy, he still was unable to escape Itachi's shadow. Despite consistently scoring at the head of every class, Sasuke failed to receive any recognition from his father, who defined Sasuke's success only in terms of his older brother. Itachi acknowledged the rivalry Sasuke felt, telling him, "We are unique siblings. I am the barrier you must overcome, so you and I will continue to exist together."

Itachi's relationship with his father deteriorated further when Itachi was questioned by other members of the Uchiha clan regarding the death and suicide note of his best friend, Shisui. As Itachi's behavior became increasingly bizarre, Sasuke's father, on a whim and partly due to Itachi's growing distance, decided to spend time with Sasuke. He taught him the Great Fireball Technique, a common family jutsu. Sasuke (age 7 at the time) eventually succeeded in performing the jutsu in front of his father after only one week of training, surprising him. At that moment, Sasuke finally received his father's recognition; the Uchiha clan considered the ability to perform fire jutsu as proof that one had become an adult. Sasuke's father told him that he could now proudly wear the clan's emblem on his back. More forebodingly, Sasuke also received a stern warning not to follow in Itachi's footsteps.

Shortly thereafter, Itachi massacred every member of the Uchiha clan, sparing only Sasuke. Itachi said that Sasuke was not even worth killing. However, Itachi's real plan was to kill Sasuke after he activated his Sharingan, so he could take his brother's eye for the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. In addition, Itachi told him, "You've always wanted to surpass me. That's why I'm going to let you live." Itachi also revealed to Sasuke where the secret meeting place of the Uchiha was hidden and suggested that Sasuke go there to learn what the true history and purpose of the Sharingan is. Sasuke thought he has fainted after this, but he recently remembered that he managed to stand back up, awaken his Sharingan and chased after Itachi. Sasuke managed to knock off Itachi's headband, and Itachi was seen shedding a tear after picking up the headband.

Sasuke collapsed, and awakened in the Konoha hospital to overhear villagers gossiping about the destruction of his clan. He escaped the hospital and wandered the village, remembering happy times with his murdered family and finally collapsing into tears as he reached the spot where his parents were killed. He then traveled to the Nakano shrine and found the secret of the Sharingan that Itachi promised him. Whatever he read there only seemed to harden his heart, and from that point forward, Sasuke's life was dedicated to vengeance against his brother.Sasuke oneday left to go and find Orochimaru and get the power he was promist,then to kill his older brother Itachi.

Description: Sharingan is a bloodline limit, or Kekkei Genkai, which appears in members of the Uchiha clan of Konohagakure. Some think that it was derived from the Byakugan many years ago. It allows the user to comprehend the attack of an opponent almost before the attacker knows what attack they are making. The Sharingan also allows the user to see the flow of chakra within a person, but to a lesser extent than the Byakugan.

Name:Mangekyo Sharingan (万華鏡写輪眼, Mangekyō Sharingan; Literally meaning "Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eye"
Description:The Mangekyo Sharingan (万華鏡写輪眼, Mangekyō Sharingan; Literally meaning "Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eye") is a heightened form of Sharingan. The Mangekyo Sharingan is distinguished from a normal Sharingan through its appearance, which changes the form of the tomoe seal. However, unlike the Sharingan, it has a different appearance between the users, as a kaleidoscope never looks the same when looked through. Kakashi's version is significantly different than Itachi's, as Madara's looks completely different, and his brother's looks different also. Those who have the potential to obtain it must make a great sacrifice in order to obtain it – according to Itachi, they must kill their closest friend. Itachi, Madara, and his brother apparently do in fact do this to obtain the original version, but Kakashi has noted that everyone he cared about had died long before the start of the series, so how he developed his own variant is unknown. And apparently, the Mangekyo Sharingan can be transferred from person to person, as in the case with Sasuke. The major drawback of the Mangekyo Sharingan is that when it is first activated, it slowly begins to destroy the eyes until the user becomes completely blind. The only way to regain one's eyesight after losing it would be to steal the eyes of a sibling, combining the two Sharingan to create a new, more powerful, and immortal Mangekyo Sharingan which prevents blindness and might grant immortality.

In the long history of the Uchiha clan, only a few have been able to obtain the Mangekyo Sharingan-- Madara Uchiha being the first, and his brother being the second. At present, there are three people alive who can use the Mangekyo Sharingan: Kakashi, Madara, and Sasuke.

The Mangekyo Sharingan appears to react in different ways for different ninja. Itachi's Mangekyo Sharingan enabled him to use Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, and Susano'o. Madara Uchiha's Mangekyo Sharingan appears to allow him to utilize a powerful space / time teleportation jutsu similar in principal to the Flying Thunder God Technique but without any requirements for use. Kakashi's own version of the Mangekyo Sharingan allows him to use a space / time jutsu of his own in which he creates a localized dimensional warp, drawing everything in the immediate vicinity of the point into a singularity. Sasuke's Mangekyo Sharingan seems to possess strong hypnotic abilities.

Amaterasu is the most powerful ninjutsu there is opposite of Tsukuyomi the most powerful genjutsu. Amaterasu is unique to Itachi Uchiha, who later gave the power to Sasuke Uchiha. The jet-black flames are said to be as hot as the sun, and will burn for seven days and seven nights. Since the Mangekyo Sharingan is necessary to activate this jutsu, not many have learned it. All that is known is that it is very powerful since it can punch through a Mountain Toad's stomach which is, as stated by Jiraiya, fire retardant. Not surprisingly, it appears to use a large amount of chakra. Though stated in the databook to burn everything reflected on its retina; Zetsu also commented that the Amaterasu burns everything within Itachi's wide field of vision to cinders with an unholy black flame, to the degree of being able to burn an entire forest or village with it.

ChidoriThis jutsu is Kakashi's only original technique, though he now uses an S-ranked version known as the Lightning Blade. He created it around the time he was promoted to Jonin, and later taught it to Sasuke. This jutsu channels a large amount of chakra into the user's arm. The amount of chakra is so great that it becomes visible to the naked eye. The technique actually alters the nature of the user's chakra, effectively converting it into electricity. As a side effect of the conversion process, the large amount of chakra, and the speed at which the user moves, this technique makes a loud noise similar to many birds chirping, hence the name (if the user is not in motion, it merely makes an electric crackling sound). Once the technique is completed, the user charges forward and stabs their enemy with it. The amount of thrust combined with the large concentration of chakra allows the user to stab through almost anything; as such it is usually fatal to the enemy. This technique is classified as an assassination technique because of the speed at which it is performed, despite the loud noise it produces.

This jutsu has a major drawback, however. The speed at which the attack must be done, combined with the fact that the user must run in a straight line, causes a tunnel vision-like effect for the user. This allows their enemy to easily counter the attack, making it a potentially lethal move for the user. Though this drawback would seem to make learning the technique fairly pointless, Sasuke and Kakashi are able to avoid the drawback because of their Sharingan eyes, which take in every detail regardless of how fast the user is moving. As an additional drawback, the large amount of chakra required limits its use to a few times a day (two for Sasuke, four for Kakashi). Sasuke can manage one more than normal with the use of his cursed seal. Should the user attempt to go beyond their limit, all of their chakra will be drained and their very life force could go along with it, killing them. An additional problem, though not necessarily a debilitating one, is the fact that the large amount of chakra can also injure the user's hand if they put too much force into the attack. Sasuke does this while battling his brother, Itachi, causing some of the skin to peel from his hand and leaving it slightly smoldering after the attack was finished.

A variation on a regular Chidori developed by Sasuke Uchiha during his two-and-a-half year training with Orochimaru, this jutsu allows the user to generate electrically charged chakra from his body, instead of just concentrating it in his hand. The electricity can be channeled anywhere, allowing Sasuke to enhance his attacks or defend himself. As an offensive technique, because the electricity isn't focused, it doesn't kill on contact, only paralyzes. The Current can also be sent through the ground to attack opponents from their blind spot. Sasuke can also channel the electricity through his Kusanagi sword increasing its overall strength and cutting power, as well as making the area cut numb.

This seal consists of three tomoe, similar to the Sharingan. It is the counterpart to the Cursed Seal of Earth, and the strongest of all the cursed seals that Orochimaru uses. The seal spreads over the user's body like stains when activated.

Anko received her cursed seal while she was a student of Orochimaru. She, along with nine others, were the first people to receive a cursed seal. She was the only one to survive the application, establishing the one-in-ten chance of surviving the application of a cursed seal, but lacked the necessary will to use it. As such, her seal receded and Orochimaru wiped her memory. Orochimaru was able to reactivate it when they fought in the Forest of Death. Orochimaru was disappointed when he learned she lacked the malice to use the seal. Since Anko never uses her seal, her mutated form is never seen.

Sasuke also survived the application of the cursed seal. Orochimaru gives it to him against his will during the second stage of the Chunin exam. Orochimaru gave it to him as a test of the Uchiha clan's abilities, as well as a way to prepare Sasuke for becoming his next host. After Sasuke won his battle during the preliminary matches of the Chunin exam, Kakashi Hatake used the Evil Sealing Method to restrict the cursed seal, although its effectiveness is dependent on Sasuke's willpower. Regardless, Sasuke came to rely on the Heaven seal's power, thus weakening Kakashi's seal. Sasuke unlocked the Heaven seal's full power with the help of the Sound Four. When the second level of the seal is active, Sasuke's skin turns dark-gray and his hair grows much longer without losing its style. Additionally, he grows hand-shaped, biege colored wings from his back and a dark, star-shaped mark appears on the bridge of his nose. However, after Orochimaru attempted to take over Sasuke's body again during his battle with Itachi Uchiha, Orochimaru was sealed in a everlasting genjutsu by Susano'o, removing the cursed seal from Sasuke's shoulder. It is through the extraction of Orochimaru, the seal was removed as well.

Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique allows the user to fire several large dragon shaped fireballs at their opponent. The technique appears to require a lot of chakra to use easily, as Sasuke after using Orochimaru's oral escape skill, had to activate level two of his cursed seal to use the technique. This technique appears to be a combination of the Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique and Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique though it's development is unknown. It is apparently extremely powerful as it is able to alter localized weather conditions to the point of making thunder clouds when shot into the air. This technique can also be used as a setup for Kirin when no clouds are available.

After performing the necessary hand seals, a ninja inhales air via mouth,and utilizing a large amount of fire chakra, a ninja is able to spew a large fireball from their mouth, incinerating everything in range. The fireball ignites externally (as evidenced by Kakashi Hatake's ability to use the jutsu without burning his mask). While the Uchiha clan uses the technique as a "coming of age" technique, it does not seem to be a very difficult or rare jutsu as many ninja can be seen using it. Thus it seems to be fairly common among Leaf Chunin.

This jutsu sends multiple balls of fire at a target. It is also possible to hide shurikens within the fireballs, creating an unexpected secondary surprise attack. For the most part, however, this jutsu is used as a distraction. Oki's form is less effective, shown when Naruto just brushed it away. Itachi uses this jutsu with Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique, while in manga he uses only Great Fireball Technique.

Flapping ChidoriUsing the power of the Cursed Seal of Heaven, Sasuke forces the use of a third Chidori. While Kakashi Hatake taught Sasuke that the Chidori was a blade that protects the bonds he made to his comrades, Sasuke warps it into a blade that severs them. The Chidori instead glows black and instead of giving off the sound of birds chirping which the Chidori was known for, the Flapping Chidori gives off the sound of many birds taking flight. While it is unranked, it appears to be many times stronger than a standard Chidori. Now that Sasuke has lost his Cursed Seal of Heaven it is presumable that he can no longer use this technique

Kirin is a lightning technique that requires immense amount of chakra. It is an extremely powerful, one-shot technique that strikes in the blink of an eye. The user draws lightning directly from thunder clouds to supplement the power of his or her strike, and controls it with chakra. Because the the technique uses natural lightning as opposed to elemental chakra, its power easily outmatches all other Lightning Releases. Normally, jutsus are limited in power to the amount of chakra capacity any giver person has. Kirin, however, calls on the external lightning, which in terms of a lightning jutsu, makes it far superior to any other. However, the extreme preparation time required also decreases the technique's efficiency. This technique in the absence of active thunder clouds requires Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique or other such techniques to produce the necessary storm conditions to initiate it.

To initiate a lightning storm, and then to take control of lightning in order to guide it to a target while using the shape manipulation shown above, drained even Sasuke of most of his chakra, in addition, usage seems to destroy the thunder clouds as the sky cleared up of clouds after use. As such, this technique can only be used once in a fight. However, natural lightning can reach a temperature of 30,000 °C, so that even if it misses the target, the sizable blast will likely eliminate the enemy, if for some reason it does miss the user will be left vulnerable to attack meaning that it is important to NOT miss. Itachi withstood this technique by using Susano'o.

The Shadow of the Dancing Leaf is a Taijutsu technique that is used to position a ninja's opponent into a vulnerable aerial position. The ninja will first quickly appear below their opponent, then with a switch upper kick they will launch their target into the air. The ninja will then jump into the air to "shadow" the target with the target's back to their chest. Since this is the opponents blind spot, the user can have various ways of executing the dance with a variety of combos in almost any fashion. Rock Lee uses the Shadow of the Dancing Leaf to place his opponent into a position to do his Front Lotus technique. Sasuke would go on to copy this move to set up his opponent for his Lion Combo. Sasuke could however use the Shadow of the Dancing Leaf after he copied it with his Sharingan, but because he hadn't had the same training as Lee, he couldn't avoid the body strain the technique carries.

This jutsu is a variant of Rock Lee's Front Lotus, which Sasuke develops after using his Sharingan to copy the first part of the move. Because Lee wasn't given the chance to finish the attack, Sasuke makes his own ending to it.

Like Lee, Sasuke gets to the point where he does Shadow of the Dancing Leaf to get behind an airborne opponent. Afterwards, his is different. He starts with a kick to the left side of his opponent (the easiest part to block). From there he does a backhand strike to the face, one straight punch to the gut to send the opponent towards the ground and finishes with a spinning kick that lands his left heel on the center of the opponent just as they both hit the ground. Sasuke tends to use different moves each time he does this technique. Because Sasuke doesn't know how to open his chakra gates, this technique puts much more strain on him than it does on Lee. Additionally, his finish is nowhere near as devastating, though still quite effective, giving his version a lower rank.

After sustaining massive injury, or simply to escape from a seemingly inescapable attack, this technique allows the user to shed their bodies from their mouths, similar to how a snake sheds its skin which leaves their body completely recovered as if they've never been struck. The technique was the result of Orochimaru's many experimentations of his body to get as close to snakes as possible. When Sasuke Uchiha took control of Orochimaru, he was able to use many of Orochimaru's abilities, which includes this rebirthing technique.

The user of this technique throws multiple large shuriken in such a way that the first shuriken hides the subsequent ones by blocking the line of sight. To the target, it appears as if only one shuriken was thrown.

Sasuke first used this technique against Zabuza Momochi. When he used it, he referred to the technique as "Wind Demon Shuriken, Shadow Windmill", which in the English version was dubbed as "Demon Wind Shuriken, Windmill of Shadows". His version used a transformed Naruto as the second shuriken, creating an additional surprise attack after Zabuza avoided the first thus releasing Kakashi from the water prison.

The Sharingan Windmill Triple Blade is a ninjutsu technique used by Sasuke during the period where Orochimaru was disguised as a Kusagakure ninja. The user, using their Sharingan eyes, will hurl numerous windmill Shuriken, all with wire attached at the ends. The wire is used to direct the shuriken, and to restrain the enemy, once the shuriken has been spun around them. A great finishing move is when the user attaches a cord into his mouth and does Fire Release: Dragon Flame Jutsu. The fire will go down the cord and hit the enemy with great accuracy and amazing power.

The basic form of all summoning techniques, this jutsu uses a contract, hand seals, and the user's blood to summon an animal or weapon from another dimension. As an alternative to the normal hand seals, the same contract that appears on the ground during the summoning can be drawn by hand and activated, producing the same result. The type of animal summoned is determined by the contract. The blood is used as a signature to make the contract, which can be written on a scroll or tattoo, valid. Susano'o is a technique that creates a spiritual being resembling a yamabushi wielding the sacred Yata No Kagami (八咫鏡, lit. "Yata's Mirror"), a mirror that's considered one of the three sacred treasures capable of reflecting all attacks, as a shield in its left hand, and in its right, the legendary Totsuka no Tsurugi (十拳剣, lit. "The Sword Ten Hands Long"), also known as the Sakenagi Longsword (酒刈太刀, Sakenagi Tachi; lit. "Sake Cutter Longsword"). The Totsuka no Tsurugi, commonly sheathed in a sake jar held by a third hand growing from Susano'o's right forearm, is an ethereal weapon with an enchanted blade capable of sealing anything it pierces in an eternal dream-like illusion, and is described as the perfect counter to Orochimaru's Kusanagi Sword.[1] Like the Amaterasu, and Tsukuyomi, Susano'o is an ability of the Mangekyo Sharingan. Zetsu said that Susanoo's Sword of Totsuka combined with Yata's mirror essentially makes Itachi invincible.

Named after the Shinto moon god, Tsukuyomi, this jutsu is one of the most powerful genjutsu in existence. It is unique to the Uchiha clan and only those with the Mangekyo Sharingan can perform it. When executed, the jutsu traps the target in an illusionary world that is completely controlled by the user. While it only takes a few seconds to complete in the real world, the user can make it seem as if days have passed for the target. Depending on the user's whim, they can either torture their target for days on end, or make them relive a traumatic event over and over. When the jutsu ends the resultant psyhological trauma will render the target unable to fight for a while, and possibly suffer a complete mental breakdown. An example of this is Kakashi Hatake, who had to be hospitalized for quite some time after Itachi preformed the Tsukuyomi on him.

While the illusion is never the same twice, some elements always remain. The first and foremost similarity is the red moon, which hangs in the sky of each illusion. The moon, in turn, casts a red light throughout the illusion, giving the background a blood-red appearance while the figures within the illusion are in a grayscale inverted color.

Because the Sharingan is the main factor in executing this jutsu, eye contact is required. When he used it on Sasuke Uchiha, however, Itachi seemed to force Sasuke to open his eyes. Sasuke had both eyes closed prior to Itachi's activation of the technique, but opened them in shock as Itachi used the technique. Alternatively, Itachi may have simply caused Sasuke enough pain to open his eyes, or Sasuke did so by himself, despite how unwise such an action was.

Such a powerful technique is not without its disadvantages, though. Because of the complexity of the illusion and the quickness with which it is executed, an enormous amount of chakra is necessary to perform it. To date, only Sasuke Uchiha was able to over come Tsukuyomi, turning the after effects back on Itachi.
